This split between FIVE NO RISK and THE KNOCKERS feels like two paths merging at a crossroads. Should we choose one road and move straight forward, or stay and treat this point as the destination? We are free to choose, free to feel without thinking, or to get stupid because we are, you know, free.

On one side, Osaka’s FIVE NO RISK presents two ingenious songs that will grab your attention with titles alone. This band is unconforming and unstoppable. They shred the box of what constitutes punk or hardcore, like other unconventional bands, but they remain unique to themselves. They cut right back to what hits home—pure drive and inspiration, having just released two full-length albums at once.

On the other side, THE KNOCKERS extends their presence as a band. Under the name THE KNOCKERS’ ATSUSHI, Atsushi, who sings and plays the guitar, released a solo acoustic album and toured the nation. Now here as a band, THE KNOCKERS are fully themselves and their sound. It almost feels unnatural to pick apart the collective.

When two opposites cross, they converge into one 7” split like this.

大阪が生んだ奇才"FIVE NO RISK"は先日まさかのフルアルバムを二枚同時にリリースした直後ながら、その製作意欲は全く衰えず、楽曲タイトルからして気になり過ぎる天才的な2曲を提示。彼らをパンクやハードコアの目線で語る事はもはや馬鹿らしく思える事でしょう。型破りを売りにしたバンドは数多かれど、FIVE NO RISKは本当の意味で突き抜けられる稀有な存在です。
"THE KNOCKERS"は前作アコースティック弾き語りのアルバムリリースと全国ツアー敢行後、今度はバンドサウンドでの楽曲リリースとなりました。今更彼らの魅力を言葉で語る事は野暮かと思いますが、今作も飛び切りのTHE KNOCKERSサウンドを聴かせてくれていると保証させていただきます。そして7インチフォーマットがしっくりくる、そんな愛おしい楽曲です。
